Side 1 and 2 originally issued as "Portrait in Jazz". The two takes of "Autumn Leaves" first appeared on Riverside 315 and Riverside 1162 (stereo) versions of the album.
Side 3 and 4 originally issued as "Explorations" (Riverside 351) except "The Boy Next Door" not released at that time because the artist was not fully satisfied with it; the producer has chosen to include it now to demonstrate how well even a self-considered lesser Evans effort stands the test of time.
